NOTICE OF CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: St Luke’s Congregational meeting will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015. The purpose of this meeting is to elect 5 new council members, approve the 2016 budget and vote on a proposed sign for the church and fencing around the old cemetery.
Budget forum will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 7:00pm.
Representatives from the finance committee, council, and the cemetery committee will be available to answer questions.
The Blood Connection will be at St. Luke’s from 1:30—5:00 pm on Sunday, Oct. 11. Your donation helps to meet the local transfusion needs. Please call Fran Merchant at 364-3156 for an appointment. Thank you for all your support.
Cold weather will soon arrive and time to enjoy turkey stew. Stoney Hill Center will cook stew on Friday, October 9th. Price is $7.00 a quart. Pick up on Friday, Oct. 9th, between 4-6:30 pm, Please reserve your stew as soon as possible...no later than Oct. 4th with any center member.
An informative meeting sponsored by the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office will be given on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in the fellowship hall. Please make plans to join us for this informative meeting. All residents of the area are highly recommended to attend!

You are cordially invited to join us on Sunday, Oct. 18th, as we celebrate homecoming here at St. Luke’s. Reverend Larry Dooley will be delivering the message. This is a double treat as we honor our members who have reached their “Golden Age.”
A covered dish lunch will follow the service. We look forward to honoring our Golden Agers and welcoming back old friends!
Now is the time to add or renew subscriptions to the South Carolina Lutheran magazine. Please contact the office by Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, if you would like to continue your subscription, add a new subscription or cancel. The cost is $8.50 for 6 issues delivered to your home. Checks should be made payable to South Carolina Synod, ELCA.
Our fall Country Fried Steak Supper is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14. The meal will consist of fried steak, rice and gravy, slaw, pickle and bread. Plates will cost $8.00 each. You can eat-in or take-out from 5:00-7:00 pm. Baked goods will be available for an additional price. Tickets will go on sale October 25.
