NOTICE OF CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: St Luke’s Congregational meeting will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015. The purpose of this meeting is to elect 5 new council members, approve the 2016 budget and vote on a proposed sign for the church and fencing around the old cemetery. Primary ballot for council members will be cast on Sunday October 4, 2015.
Forums will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 6:00 pm and Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 7:00pm.
Representatives from the finance committee, council, and the cemetery committee will be available to answer questions. A representative from the sign company will be available on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Our Congregational Council has declared Sept. 6 and 13 “South Carolina Lutheran Retreat Centers Sunday”. On both days we will have temple talks and receive gifts in support of the Coastal Retreat and Camp Kinard. There will be baskets at all church exits for your gifts. Please make checks payable to St. Luke’s for SCLRC. St. Luke’s has always supported the arm of the church. Let’s continue to do so.
This year's WELCA Heartland Conference will he held on Sept.13th, at 4:00pm at Macedonia Lutheran Church. The project is in support of Lutheran Family Services of S.C. by providing items for infants from birth to 24 months. These items can include diapers, wipes, bottles, blankets, cloth diapers, clothing, toys, etc. Gift cards, checks and money are also appreciated. Please leave donations on the designated table in the assembly room. (Give cards, checks or money to Caroline Brandt.) Also, please let Caroline know by Sept. 1st if you plan to attend.
The WELCA Executive Committee will meet on Sunday, Sept. 13th, at 5:30 p.m. in the assembly room. All officers and circle leaders should attend.
The WELCA Joint meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20th, after the worship service. The Thomas Suber and Barbara Richardson circles will provide a light meal. Please plan now to attend.
