Night Group)
The St. Luke’s
Lutheran Men in Mission is an auxiliary of the church, where men
meet to worship, to learn from guest speakers and Bible Studies and
to enjoy fellowship with one another. Our group meets on the Monday
after the second Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The Monday Evening group of our LMM will meet at 7:30 PM Monday,
September 12, 2011 in the Fellowship Hall. the guest speaker
will be Dr. Michael Bernardo of the Newberry Family Healthcare.
He will speak on his mission work doing medical clinics in Africa
and Central America.
All men of the congregation are invited to join us for a good
program, good fellowship and good food.
We support the following funds of
Lutheran Men in Mission:
The Mission Gift Fund that disburses
aid to newly organized congregations that demonstrate need for
financial help.
The LMM Loan Fund that makes low rate
loans to mission congregations.
The State LMM Administration Fund
which finances “The Epistle” (our state newsletter) and other
administrative expenses.
The Committee of 100 which supports
the Mission State Program.
Our local projects include:
responsibility for Shrove Tuesday pancake supper, collecting toys
for Newberry County DSS Christmas Toy Drive for needy children and
participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program in our community. As a
special project we collected funds to put a chimney cap on the
parsonage.
